OUTDOOR SIGNWIND DESIGN PER PROJECT ENGINEERING

Monument Signs

Ground-level identity signs engineered for decades of service.

Monument signs provide ground-level property identification at entrances, campuses and shopping centers. Material, foundation, tenant layout, landscaping, visibility and permitting drive the appropriate design.

Durability Specifications

How Monument Signs Perform Outdoors

UV Protection

Acrylic and polycarbonate faces with UV-inhibitor coatings. Painted aluminum panels use PVDF (Kynar) finishes rated 20+ years exterior.

Fade Resistance

Digital prints laminated with cast overlaminate rated 7–10 years outdoor. Painted surfaces use 2-part polyurethane or powder coat.

Weather Sealing

Cabinet gaskets, weep holes, and sealed electrical penetrations. Masonry bases shed water and resist freeze-thaw cycles.

Wind Load Rating

Structural steel post cores engineered to local wind codes. Coastal and hurricane-zone monuments use embedded steel with concrete footings rated to 150 mph.

Foundation Spec

Concrete footings sized per soil bearing capacity and local code. Typically 24–36" diameter, 48–60" deep in frost zones.

Vandal Resistance

Polycarbonate faces resist impact. Anti-graffiti coatings available. Tamper-resistant fasteners standard.

Custom Monument Signs for Businesses

A monument sign helps identify a property at its entrance and gives visitors a clear arrival point. Signage Operations Command helps businesses and property teams plan monument signage around the site, the brand and the information people need to see. Start with the property address, photos and the names or messages the sign must display.

Plan around the property

A roadside entrance, office campus and multi-tenant development can require different layouts. Consider viewing direction, nearby landscaping, available space and how drivers or pedestrians approach the site. Existing signs, tenant standards and property requirements should be included in the review.

Choose the right sign content

Discuss the main identity, tenant panels, directional information and any illumination needs before choosing the final appearance. Share approved logos and brand guidelines. If tenants or messages change regularly, explain how those updates need to be handled so the proposed sign can be evaluated for that use.

Define production and site work

SOC can coordinate the project scope from design and manufacturing through installation. Dimensions, structural requirements, foundations, electrical work and approvals are site-specific items to resolve before construction. For an existing monument, send photos and dimensions so refurbishment, new panels or replacement can be considered.

Request a monument sign review with the site address, property photos and project goals.
